Austin Dam Events Update and Invitation for Artisan Vendors
The Austin Dam Memorial Association has announced several updates relating to events at the historic PA Wilds site. Wilds Cooperative of PA artisans are invited to participate in upcoming events as vendors.
The Dam Bluegrass has been postponed until July of 2022. The much-anticipated annual Classic Rock Dam Show, now in its 19th year, is still scheduled for August 26 through the 29, 2021.
In the absence of the Bluegrass Festival, the 2021 Wood Carvers Fair will be held from July 15 to July 25. Wood cravers will be at the park the entire 10 days, working on their pieces. Festival organizers also have musical entertainment and a variety of special exhibitions plus artisans, crafters and food vendors coming both weekends of July 16—17 and July 23—24. There will be a huge auction of selected showpieces on Sunday, July 25th starting at 2 pm.
Wood Carvers Fair Tickets will be available for purchase for the July 16—17 and July 23—24 events. Camping with events admission tickets will be available through our Hipcamp site. Tickets will be also available at the gate for those not camping at the park. Admission to the park during the weekdays, and on Sunday July 25 is free. On stage open mic opportunity for budding new stars will be available during the week. Other planned activities include fly-fishing tying and casting demonstrations by Tight Lines Sport Fishing of Erie, PA.
Memorial Weekend, May 28-May-31, at the Austin Dam is also shaping up to be a special time this year. The Park Welcome Center opens at 11 a.m. each day and the event will feature musical entertainment, artists, and craft and food vendors. Second Act Band is coming back to the park to play a concert, on May 29th, Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. Last year on Flag Day, Second Act played at the park and Lisa sang the Star-Spangled Banner at the opening. Special Guests include the Penn State Extension’s Master Watershed Steward program.
For Memorial Weekend, events are open to public and no admission fees. Vendors and overnight campers are may reserve a spot using our Park’s Hipcamp website. under the listing of Austin Dam Festival Camping and Austin Dam Vendors Only. Festival Camping sites are $32 per night.
