Pleasant Valley Farm is a historic family owned farm located in Tionesta, PA within the PA Wilds Allegheny National Forest and Surrounds Landscape. Dan and Emily Stevenson are the husband and wife creative makers continuing the farm’s traditions and creating things that are made to last. Dan is an accomplished authentic blacksmith and Emily is a seamstress with a passion for history and agriculture. Together they raise a variety of heritage breed livestock and poultry as well as non-heritage animals.
Pleasant Valley Farm was known for being the home of a renown local blacksmith many years ago, and the original blacksmith shop still stands. Estimated to have been built in the 1870s, it is the oldest building still standing on their family farm. Dan proudly carries on the tradition of blacksmithing, specializing in handcrafted home goods. He creates beautiful functional hand-forged pieces in the traditional style, heating metal and shaping them on the anvil with a variety of hand tools. You will be amazed by his sturdy and durable pot racks, fire pokers, and door handles.
Emily and Dan enjoy scouting flea markets and auctions for vintage treasures, particularly vintage cast iron cookware and antique books. Emily enjoys professionally restoring cast iron cookware. Her interest in this was sparked by her love of local history as the Griswold factory was less than 60 miles from the farm. She also loves to sew and offers beautiful aprons made from vintage patterns with modern fabrics as well as totes,bags and heating pads.
