Welcome to Allegheny Nesting! I created this small business to help you “make your nest” feel like home by making personalized home decor and homemade products on my homestead that are useful and make you happy. I own multiple wood lasers that I use to engrave and personalize items such as home signs, charcuterie boards, wooden jewelry, nursery signs and gifts. On our homestead, located outside of Kane, PA in elk county, we own alpacas, goats and chickens. I make homemade goat milk soap from our milking goats, homemade salves & balms, dough bowl candles and homemade thieves cleaners. When in season I also sell our fresh vegetables, flowers and farm fresh eggs. I share LIVE videos of the products that I make on my facebook and instagram profiles. In 2023 I published my first book and my first coloring book. My book is titled Allison Rose Lost Her Chicken: A Chicken's Tour of Kane, Pennsylvania. Within this lovely tour book of Kane, PA you will find facts about small businesses in Kane as well as beautiful photographs of local makers. Our new Coloring book is titled Allegheny Alpacas: The Real Stars of the Forest and is a series of 5 coloring books. The first book was published this winter and focuses on Flynn Ryder, my 2-year-old alpaca, who moves from NY to Kane, PA to find black cherry. Within the pages of the coloring book, you will complete activities, learn about alpacas, gain confidence through Flynn's motto "You're Cool Being You", and be encouraged to get outside in the PA Wilds to meet Flynn Ryder in person along the Kinzua Bridge Trail. My small business was created in the woods next to the Allegheny National Forest and my goal is to share our homesteading lifestyle and my products with others in hopes to promote shopping small businesses, getting outside with your family & rural tourism in the PA Wilds. The Coop Shop is my new store which will soon be located right along the Kinzua Bridge Trail on the Mckean/Elk side of the trail. You will be able to visit my alpacas and shop my homemade products while you are enjoying the outdoors along the trail.
