Hello, My name is Danette Wightman. I am from Genesee Pa. I have been creating artistic items for many years. I specialize in Gourd Art. I started working with gourds in 2010 and my passion for this is still strong. Each gourd I work with is unique. There’s no way to ever get bored. Since 2010, my art has become Part of the Pa. Wilds , Potter County Artisan and Pa. Route 6. I have also become a visitor Member of the Cattaraugus County Artisans and the ACWC. After choosing the gourd I’m working with I begin the design. Then I cut it and clean it. see pictures above. Then the wood burning / carving and then painting. each piece is then sealed completely so it will last.
