I work in sterling silver, capturing the leaves, flowers and texture of the Pennsylvania flora and landscapes. My work includes traditional metalsmithing techniques, as well as more modern approaches to capturing the likeness and textures of my gardens. I find inspiration in my gardens, and the woodlands and rivers of Central Pennsylvania. From the leaves and textures, to special stones that evoke a story, I like combining the elements into artwork with a story. I strive to evoke memories of time in nature, and connection nature on a simple and heartfelt way. Though I strive to have a line of classic, timeless pieces, many of my pieces are tied to the passing seasons, where I work to incorporate seasonal color and line. I also work in felting natural fibers, mainly wools and silk. I source raw fleece with long locks from small flock farmers and clean and process it to be used, hand-dyed by me, in felted scarves that I make. I use other dyed rovings with the long locks to make scarves with large flowers and leaves scattered across them, as well as table runners. Again, my inspiration comes from my gardens and the woodlands around Bellefonte. Recent different scarves subjects include ginkgo leaves, clematis flowers, and hydrangea leaves. I am a juried member of the The PA Guild of Craftsmen for jewelry.
