Wellsboro, PA resident Linda Stager is an award-winning book author, outdoor writer, and photographer. She is a Tioga Publishing Company Landmarks Award recipient for using her photography to promote the Tioga County area. Her photographs can be seen in various tourism and travel brochures and on a variety of magazine covers. Her photos have been featured in Mountain Home Magazine and several of her “Back of the Mountain” photos have won Keystone Press Awards for best published magazine photo. She is also a past (and current) Critics Choice Award winner by the PA Parks and Forests Foundation. She is author of the award-winning “The Pine Creek Rail Trail Guidebook”, a 206-page paperback book that showcases the Pine Creek Rail Trail, a 62 mile trail that starts near Wellsboro. Her book also has a “Strongly Recommend” approval by Pennsylvania Magazine. She learned photography during a two year period as she photographed the illustrations for the book. Most recently, Linda has combined her photography with journalism and is now published frequently in a variety of regional, statewide, and national venues. Linda is a retired social worker. She had a 40-year career in human services and was at the time of her retirement, the day to day operations administrator for an organization that employed up to 250 employees at the time. Her photography skills are self-taught but some of the professional photographers in the Grand Canyon Photo Club in Wellsboro are credited with mentoring her along her journey.
