About Member

I was born into a family of woodworkers who owned their own lumberyard. My father was a skilled cabinetmaker, and his love of woodworking inspired me as a child. Now, sixty years later, as a lifelong woodworker, I embrace the work ethic of woodworking, and appreciate the diversity of lumber found in Pennsylvania woodlands. It provides a wonderful source of material to work with: oaks, birch, maple, cherry, walnut, etc. I especially like the more decorative woods – curly maple, flame birch, birds eye maples, tiger striped, spalted and figured woods - since these can be a challenge to work with but can create a very unique result.
