Registration open for 2022 PA Route 6 Educational Workshop, Annual Meeting & Do 6 Awards Program in Mansfield
The PA Route 6 Alliance invites individuals and groups from across its 11-county PA Route 6 Heritage Corridor to join them September 21-22 in the Heritage Community of Mansfield, Pennsylvania, for the 2022 Educational Workshop & Annual Meeting & Do 6 Awards Program.
The event kicks off with the Educational Workshop on Wednesday the 21st at the Mill Cove Environmental Area. Guided by input from the corridor’s 20 PA Heritage Communities, the Alliance has planned educational workshops and sessions covering such topics as adaptive reuse, bicycle tourism, planning for a bike-friendly Route 6, and what’s next in community development. Special guests and speakers include Amy Camp from Cycle Forward, Julie Fitzpatrick from PA Downtown Center, and many others who will discuss relevant topics to the communities and residents across PA Route 6.
Following the workshop, participants will have the opportunity for outdoor recreation at Mill Cove. There will also be opportunities to kayak or hike the many trails surrounding Mill Cove or bring along your own bicycle and participate in an organized ride hosted by a local bicycle shop in Mansfield.
On Thursday, September 22nd, the Annual Meeting and presentation of the “Do 6” awards will be hosted at Corey Creek Golf Club in Mansfield. PA Route 6 Alliance will recognize projects and accomplishments, provide updates on current initiatives, and a keynote address by Amy Camp. The event concludes with the “Do 6” Awards Ceremony celebrating individuals, groups, projects and communities that exemplify and advance the Alliance’s mission of protecting, preserving and promoting the scenic, cultural, historic and recreational resources across PA Route 6.
Alliance Executive Director, Candace Hillyard explains, “We welcome residents, small business owners, and community leaders of all kinds from across northern Pennsylvania to join us in Mansfield. We try to find a balance each year of celebrating the incredible work already being done across the PA Route 6 Heritage Corridor and inspiring further growth and development through education and networking.”
