Help your audience understand the importance of stewardship

Building a premier outdoor recreation destination takes input from everyone. From those who promote it to those who live and work in the communities. Every single one of us has a role to play.  As part of the PA Wilds Leave No Trace Initiative, your business or organization is invited to help travelers understand how to protect the PA Wilds by practicing Leave No Trace, so that our region remains just as beautiful for future generations.

PA Wilds Leave No Trace Partners will be able to participate in professional development sessions around effective use of this stewardship messaging and utilize the custom Leave No Trace Seven Principles developed for our region as well as various materials designed to be shared with visitors.

BRADFORD REGIONAL AIRPORT
USES PA WILDS DESIGN GUIDE
IN TERMINAL RENOVATION

Bradford Regional Airport recently renovated its terminal and used the PA Wilds Design Guide for inspiration. The Airport also contracted with PA Wilds based companies for the work.

When we decided to renovate the airport terminal, selecting a look and feel that would not only represent our region but that would also age well was a high priority.  After thinking about what other buildings in the area we liked and what elements stood out, the natural surroundings of the area became the inspiration.  Nature never goes out of style, right?  Consulting the PA Wilds Design Guide and using it as a resource helped tremendously when it was time to select materials and finishes for the project.  It kept me from coloring outside the lines, if that makes sense, and also helped create a cohesive look.  In the end, I credit the Design Guide for helping us create a beautiful space where we hope the community is proud to welcome guests.”

KEEPING THE PA WILDS WILD

The Pennsylvania Wilds is one of the largest blocks of green between NYC and Chicago. Let's keep it that way, together.

Our region is home to more than 2 million acres of public land, the largest wild elk herd in the northeast, some of the darkest night skies in the country, old growth forest cathedrals — and so many more unique natural experiences. But it hasn’t always been that way. By understanding our past and using tools at our fingertips, we can ensure we leave the next generation a landscape that they too can be proud of.

CONSERVATION LEGACYSTEWARDSHIP RESOURCES

YOUTH PROGRAMS

Help us engage regional youth and empower our next generation of conservation leaders and creative entrepreneurs!

Programming ranges from paid internships for high school students at our PA Wilds Conservation Shops, to classes offered through our PA Wilds Outdoor Industry Exploration Series, to company models where students learn business and technical skills while tying into our regional brand and platforms such as pawilds.com. These opportunities are made possible through the generous donations of companies participating in the state’s Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) Program.
