WalkWorks grants available to help communities with active transportation plans
WalkWorks is accepting grant applications from municipalities and other governmental bodies. Grants are offered to assist the development of Active Transportation Plans, Complete Streets policies, and Vision Zero policies.
A free webinar about the grants will be held on Friday, April 9 at noon.
WalkWorks is a partnership between the Pennsylvania Department of Health and the Pennsylvania Downtown Center. The goal is to create a network of community-based walking routes and walking groups. WalkWorks:
- Identifies and promotes safe walking routes;
- Offers social support through guided, community-based walking groups;
- Helps schools develop walk-to-school programs; and
- Addresses local policies to increase safe walking routes.
WalkWorks grant applications must be submitted by 5:00 PM on Friday, May 14. For more information and submission instructions, review the WalkWorks funding opportunity announcement.
