OUR MARKETING PLATFORMS

4 PLATFORMS  •  4 AUDIENCES

ONE [VERY ATTRACTIVE] BRAND

We love to promote our region’s unique establishments, talented artisans, and service providers. Did you know that more than 15x the population of the PA Wilds visited the region in 2015 for day trips? 8x our population stayed overnight that year!

We know there is power in a place-based brand, and we want to help our businesses and organizations reach those people with ours: the PA Wilds.

Here is a quick overview of our platforms, followed by more info on how we promote WCO members.

MARKETING TO THE PUBLIC

“business-to-consumer” or B2C marketing

In addition to running paid marketing campaigns to push traffic to our two core visitor platforms as a way to increase visibility and sales, we promote our region and members on the PA Wilds Are Calling blog (pawilds.com/blog); via eblasts to members, stakeholders and travelers; market events; and social media.

Creative Makers who sell products to the PA Wilds Conservation Shops or on the PA Wilds Marketplace are promoted as part of the regional experience. In addition, Professional Level Creative Makers with brick-and-mortar locations are promoted on pawilds.com, the primary visitor platform for our region.

Experience Makers, the place-based businesses and organizations that offer the things to see and do or places to stay and play, are the primary listings backbone on pawilds.com, which is the primary visitor platform for our region. Thousands of dollars are invested in promoting pawilds.com annually.

Resource Partners who provide Travel Tips & Planning services that are central to the traveling public are promoted as part of the overall visitor experience on our visitor platform.

EXAMPLES & A TESTIMONIAL

PA WILDS MAKERS MARKET

The PA Wilds Makers Market launched in 2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. A brainchild of WCO members, the event streams online to allow people to easily find PA Wilds products, services and experiences safely at home.

We hope to make this an annual event – so stay tuned for updates!

We are fortunate to have a larger organization to connect to.  The PA Wilds Center has a sensitivity to branding and a strong awareness of what brings the visitors to our area – which is creating an experience that enjoys what each county or area offers.  This creates a whole experience which makes us worth the trip!

We manage public Instagram and Facebook pages, as well as a private WCO Community group page to help members network and collaborate in real time.

Professional Level Creative Makers are promoted in the PA Wilds Buyer’s Guide, a free downloadable tool designed to help producers and retailers make connections.

Trading Posts, or retail establishments, are promoted in the PA Wilds Buyer’s Guide, a free downloadable tool designed to help producers and retailers make connections.

PA Wilds logo licensees are promoted in the PA Wilds Buyer’s Guide, a free downloadable tool designed to help producers and retailers make connections.

EXAMPLES & A TESTIMONIAL

PA WILDS BUYERS MARKET

The PA Wilds Buyers Market launched in 2017 and was held for three years in a row. Designed to help connect retailers with regional wholesale producers in an effort to grow more business-to-business relationships, the event was also an opportunity to showcase products to buyers at the PA Wilds Conservation Shop.

We hope to bring back this event – so stay tuned for updates!

My photography and video business has gained an immeasurable amount of exposure and new, actual job-yielding business relationships due to the bright efforts and successful implementation of the PA Wilds Cooperative programs.  My business would not be where it is today without their services and guidance.
