WCO Juried Artisans invited to submit designs for PA Wilds-branded products
Creative Makers in the Wilds Cooperative of PA (WCO) are invited to create and submit designs for use on several PA Wilds –branded soft goods products such as apparel, totes, hats and other accessories. Submissions for this open call are due by March 31, 2021.
The PA Wilds Center for Entrepreneurship (PA Wilds Center), the nonprofit that manages the WCO, is interested in partnering with WCO Creative Makers to source unique products for its retail establishments known as PA Wilds Conservation Shops. The WCO is the primary product line for the Conservation Shops.
The PA Wilds Center is looking to license existing images from Juried Artisans across several different themes, described below, at a one-time flat-rate of $150/image. PA Wilds Center’s rights to the designs would be non-exclusive (the artist would retain the copyright to their original image and could use the image for other purposes); however, the PA Wilds Center could reproduce the licensed image, in an exact or manipulated form, on saleable products for as long as it needs. In most cases, the image would be appearing with the PA Wilds logo. In some cases, the image may be used as an embellishment to a quote or saying that reflects the values of the Pennsylvania Wilds brand.
Soft goods created through this program would be made available wholesale to retailers around the region to sell to the traveling public. The PA Wilds Center would call out the connection Juried Artisans have to the product line, and where possible would include information about the artist in product descriptions.
Royalties collected on PA Wilds-branded products stay in the region and go to support the nonprofit mission of the PA Wilds Center. This is a great way for our Juried Artists to get additional exposure for their designs and/or earn a little extra for work already created, all while supporting a great cause.
